Raj Bhavan Bomb Threat: Bengaluru Police Arrest Kolar Farmer In Chittoor district

Bengaluru Police have arrested a man named Baskar, a farmer from Kolar, for making a hoax bomb threat to the Raj Bhavan. The arrest was made in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, after the police tracked him down based on the phone number used for the threatening call.

While returning to Kolar, Baskar purportedly made a false bomb threat towards the Raj Bhavan, prompting the filing of a case at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station. He was subsequently arrested, and authorities are currently conducting an interrogation.

Baskar reportedly obtained the Raj Bhavan's number through an online search, placing the threatening call from Majestic before heading to the Kanhipakam temple in Andhra Pradesh. Police officials tracked his location and apprehended him in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.

Following the threat call, the Vidhana Soudha Police formed a team and pursued the accused. Central security agencies, upon being alerted, coordinated with the local police and received updates. The apprehension of the accused was reported to the central investigation agencies.

During the investigation, the accused claimed to have made the call on a whim. Baskar, a B.Com graduate and farmer, had reportedly acquired information about purchasing a new SIM card on the same day. Authorities are probing whether this SIM card was obtained for making threatening calls.
