Pro-Kannada Activists Rally For Kannada Signboards In Bengaluru Shops
A group of pro-Kannada activists staged a protest outside shops in Bengaluru on Wednesday, demanding that shop signboards prominently feature Kannada, with at least 65% of the signage written in the local language.
The protest, led by the Kannada Rakshana Vedike group, unfolded in the market precinct of Chikkapete in Bengaluru.

Advocates of the movement highlight Karnataka's cultural essence residing in its language, emphasizing that the visibility of Kannada on signboards signifies regional pride and identity.
Their demands extend to the translation of brand logos into Kannada, believing this measure will foster a stronger sense of community and inclusivity among the local populace.
The demonstrations yesterday left shop owners in Chikkapete surprised by the intensity of the protest. However, many vendors expressed their willingness to comply with the stipulations while requesting time to implement the changes.
