Karnataka Price Hike Alert: Cauvery Water, Auto Fares, Bus Fares, And Medical Fees Set To Increase
In a series of price hikes announced by the Karnataka government, residents of the state will soon be facing increased costs for various essential services and utilities.

Cauvery Water Charges:
- Cauvery water charges will be increased by 15 to 40 percent.
- The hike in Cauvery water charges is expected to impact both residential and commercial consumers.
Auto Fares:
- Auto fares in Karnataka are set to rise by 25 percent.
- The new auto fare structure will come into effect soon.
Bus Fares:
- The Karnataka government has decided to increase the fares of BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) and KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses by 20-25 percent.
- The fare hike will be applicable to both ordinary and express bus services.
Medical Fees:
- Medical fees in government hospitals and medical colleges in Karnataka will see a 10-15 percent increase.
- This includes fees for various treatments, procedures, and services provided at these healthcare facilities.
The price hikes come amid the rising costs of fuel, raw materials, and other essential commodities in the state. The Karnataka government has stated that these increases are necessary to offset the escalating operational expenses and maintain the quality of public services.
Residents of Karnataka are advised to prepare for the impending rise in the cost of living as these new prices and fees are expected to be implemented in the coming weeks.
