Bangalore, March 14: As the election approaches, politicians get an extra dose of energy. This is the time when they speak their hearts out. Oneindia compiles quotes from politicians from across the nation ahead of the 16th Lok Sabha election.

Here are the top five remarks for Friday, March 14, 2014:

Tapas Pal (Trinamool Congress, Krishnanagar constituency, West Bengal): "Didi (party supremo Mamata Banerjee) is everything to me. I have nowhere to go apart from the Trinamool. The people of Krishnanagar love me like anything."

Satabdi Roy (Trinamool Congress, Birbhum constituency, West Bengal): "You (to the people) see my films and theatres by paying for the tickets. But when you are seeing me now, you are not required to pay money. So I am asking for votes, not money. If you give me votes, you can see me for free."

Arvind Kejriwal (AAP leader): "The whole media is sold out this time, it is a big conspiracy, it is a huge political controversy. If our government comes to power then we will set up an inquiry into this. And along with the media people, all will be sent to jail." Kejriwal said this while speaking on the media's focus on his security.

Saamna (Shiv Sena editorial): "Shouldn't Arvind Kejriwal be thrown in a Worli gutter as he also says that all parties be thrown in garbage can?". It also called him a Natakwala (drama artist).

Anna Hazare (Anti-corruption crusader): "I support Mamata Banerjee. Not the Trinamool Congress."
