Prajwal Revanna Boards Lufthansa Flight To Bengaluru From Germany, Police On Alert

Interpol has issued a 'Blue Corner Notice' for Prajwal Revanna, Suspended JDS Leader and Hassan MP, at the request of the SIT probing the charges against him. Revanna boarded a Lufthansa flight from Munich, Germany to Bengaluru on Thursday afternoon. The SIT, Bengaluru police, and immigration authorities have arranged to arrest him upon arrival at Bengaluru International Airport.

Interpol Alert and Flight Details

Revanna had left India on April 27. Interpol alerted Karnataka authorities about his check-in and boarding of the Lufthansa flight from Munich. The flight, scheduled at 3.35 pm IST (12.05 pm local time), is expected to land at 12.35 am on May 31. The 'Blue Corner Notice' was issued by Interpol earlier this month.

Revanna's Return

Revanna, an NDA candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls from Hassan seat, informed the SIT two days ago via video that he would present himself to the probe agency at 10 am on May 31. His diplomatic passport is set to expire on June 4, coinciding with the end of his term as an MP.

The SIT has an arrest warrant for Revanna and plans to take him into custody upon arrival. An SIT official said, "He will first be detained by immigration authorities, who will execute the look out circular issued against his name, and will be handed to the local police. The SIT will take custody from the local police."

The local court adjourned the hearing of Revanna's anticipatory bail plea to Friday mid-morning. The SIT expects to detain and process him as per legal procedures upon his arrival in the early hours of Friday.
