Prajwal Revanna Allegedly Raped My Mother, Forced Me To Strip: Woman Recounts Ordeal

A woman has accused suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna and his father HD Revanna of sexual assault and harassment. The woman, whose identity is protected, alleged that Prajwal Revanna raped her mother at his Bengaluru residence four to five years ago. She also claimed that between 2020 and 2021, Prajwal Revanna manipulated her into answering video calls and forced her to remove her clothes under threats of harm.

According to the woman, Prajwal Revanna threatened to harm her and her mother if she did not comply with his demands. She stated that her family supported them after learning about the incidents, and they filed a complaint. The woman further alleged that HD Revanna also sexually harassed her mother.

The continuous harassment led to the family changing their phone numbers. The woman also claimed that Prajwal Revanna sexually harassed female servants at his residence and that her family was forced to sell their land due to the situation.

She described Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna as "habitual offenders" and demanded justice. The scandal has sparked a political controversy, with the Congress and BJP-JD(S) engaging in a heated debate.

The Karnataka Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) has established a helpline for survivors to report complaints, and three FIRs have been registered so far, including two cases of rape and one of kidnapping.

HD Revanna has been remanded to judicial custody until May 14, and Prajwal Revanna, who reportedly left the country on April 27, is subject to a Blue Corner notice.
