Meanwhile, a group of farmers from Gudibande Taluk, along with Green Army activists, staged a protest outside the BESCOM office. They submitted a petition to the BESCOM department, complaining about the insufficient electricity supply to their agricultural pump sets.

Farmers in Gudibande Taluk, which lacks permanent irrigation projects, heavily depend on borewells for their agricultural activities. They have cultivated various crops, including potatoes, chrysanthemums, and roses, across more than 500 acres of land. However, the electricity allocated for their pump sets has not been adequately supplied, causing their crops to wither.

K.N. Somashekar, President of the State Farmers' Association and Green Army Taluk, expressed the farmers' frustration, stating that despite planting crops over 500 acres, there has been a lack of consistent power to irrigate the fields. He demanded that BESCOM immediately provide adequate electricity to the pump sets for 7 hours daily. Somashekar also urged BESCOM to clear the bushes near transformers, repair fallen power lines, and remove tree branches obstructing electric wires to ensure uninterrupted power supply for farmers.
