PM In Udupi: Modi To Participate in Laksha Kanta Gita Parayana at Udupi Krishna Mutt, Full Schedule Here

Just days after hoisting the Dharma flag at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Udupi on Friday for the prestigious Vishwaparyaya celebrations at the Sri Krishna Matha. The highlight of the event is the Laksha Kanta Gita Parayana, where over one lakh devotees are expected to simultaneously recite the Bhagavad Gita. Modi will recite the final 10 verses of the 15th chapter, regarded as spiritually significant.

Massive Security Measures in Place

Ahead of the Prime Minister's arrival, Udupi has implemented stringent security protocols. Drone activity has been banned, traffic diversions are in effect around the Matha, and over 3,000 police personnel-including 10 SPs, 27 DySPs, KSRP units, and 39 female officers-have been deployed.

Bomb squads and surveillance teams are conducting continuous checks along the scheduled roadshow route and at key public points.

Public entry to the Sri Krishna Matha has been restricted from 8 AM to 3 PM as part of the high-alert arrangements.

Modi's Schedule in Udupi

Prime Minister Modi will land in Mangalore at 11:05 AM and proceed to Udupi by helicopter, arriving at 11:30 AM.
A 20-minute roadshow from Bannanje Circle to Kalsanka Junction will take place between 11:40 AM and 12 PM, where thousands of people are expected to gather.

At noon, the Prime Minister will visit the Krishna Matha to inaugurate the gold-plated Teertha Mantapa, constructed at a cost of ₹2 crore to commemorate 50 years of ascetic life of Puthige Swamiji.

In a message shared in Kannada on social media, Modi expressed his enthusiasm, calling the visit to the Matha an "honour" and praising the Laksha Kanta Gita Parayana as an event that "unites people from diverse backgrounds for Gita recitation." He also highlighted the Matha's legacy of cultural and social service, inspired by Sri Madhvacharya.

Laksha Kanta Gita Parayana and Public Address

At 1 PM, Modi will participate in the Laksha Kanta Gita Parayana and deliver a public address. He is expected to speak on the cultural significance of the Gita, the spiritual heritage upheld by the Krishna Matha, and the role of such gatherings in strengthening societal harmony.

The inauguration of the gold-plated Teertha Mantapa will be followed by Modi witnessing the Kanaka Navagraha Kindi and offering prayers to Lord Krishna.

The visit is seen as a moment of pride for Udupi, drawing together thousands of devotees and reaffirming the deep cultural connection between the Matha and the wider community.
