ORR Traffic Back to Normal As BMRCL Girder Launcher Repair Completed
After a day of heavy traffic congestion, the Outer Ring Road (ORR) flyover between 14th and 19th Main at HSR Layout in Bengaluru has been reopened to vehicles following the repair and removal of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) girder launcher, traffic police confirmed on February 13.

The gridlock was triggered by metro construction at 14th Main, where a girder sliding operation led to road closures and diversions. Commuters were rerouted towards Silk Board via 19th Main, resulting in severe traffic jams across BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, and Ragigudda. The Electronics City flyover approach towards Silk Board was also choked, causing major delays for office-goers and motorists during peak hours.
In a related development, traffic police have announced the reopening of the Ragigudda double-decker road, which was shut due to a technical issue with the girder launcher at 14th Main. With both key routes now accessible, officials anticipate a smoother traffic flow in the area.
Meanwhile, in a fresh advisory issued on Thursday, the traffic police informed commuters that traffic is moving slowly from Kadubeesanahalli towards Kartik Nagar due to ongoing Metro work on ORR (Outer ring road). Those traveling from Marathahalli Police Station are advised to plan accordingly. Authorities request all commuters to cooperate for a smoother flow.
