Non-Bailable Warrant Issued: BS Yediyurappa Faces Arrest In POCSO Case
Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is facing a looming arrest after a special Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) court in Bengaluru issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him in connection with a molestation case involving a 17-year-old girl.
The alleged incident occurred on March 14, when the girl's mother filed a complaint at the Sadashivanagar police station alleging that Yediyurappa, a senior BJP leader, had molested her daughter. As a result, the Bengaluru police charged him under the POCSO Act and IPC Section 354A (sexual harassment). On Thursday, the POCSO court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Yediyurappa.

Earlier, the victim's brother had filed a petition in the fast-track court, which ordered the immediate arrest of the accused former Chief Minister. The state CID had also summoned Yediyurappa for questioning in connection with the case, and he has agreed to appear on June 17. Fearing arrest, Yediyurappa has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Karnataka High Court, which is scheduled to be heard on June 14.
