NGT extends stay on Bengaluru steel flyover project
The case has been adjourned to December 6 with stay being extended stopping the government from carrying on any work related to the steel flyover.
The National Green Tribunal today extended the stay granted on the construction of the Steel Flyover in Bengaluru. The NGT ordered that no work can be done on the flyover until December 6.
In an hour long hearing on a petition filed by Bengaluru based Citizen's action forum, the Karnataka government represented by Advocate General Madhusudhan Naik submitted a written petition. The petition claimed that there will be no environmental damages due to the steel flyover.

The case has been adjourned to December 6 with stay being extended stopping the government from carrying on any work related to the steel flyover. The project and its severe implications on the green cover of the city had led to massive citizen's movement urging the government to drop the proposed plan.
