Nandini Milk Prices Up By Rs 3 Per Litre
The Karnataka government on Friday raised the retail price of Nandini milk by Rs 3 per litre, following a meeting between a delegation of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The delegation, led by KMF chairman Bheema Naik, had requested the government to increase the price of Nandini milk due to the rising cost of production. The government has approved the request, and the new prices will come into effect from August 01.

According to reports, the price hike will apply only to milk and will not have any bearing on curd or other products.
The price of Nandini toned milk will now be Rs 42 per litre, up from Rs 39 per litre. Meanwhile, it is believed that the KMF has been requesting a price increase for milk powder. They claim that the production cost amounts to Rs 348 per kg, but the government is currently providing only Rs 300. Despite this demand, Siddaramaiah is reported to have rejected it.
Last month, the KMF decided to decrease procurement costs by Rs 1.5 but it was put on hold after intervention from CM Siddaramaiah.
The price hike is expected to benefit dairy farmers in Karnataka, who have been facing a financial crisis due to the rising cost of production. The government has said that it will use the additional revenue generated from the price hike to improve the infrastructure of the dairy industry in the state.
