Namma Metro Yellow Line: Check Route Map, Station List, Ticket Price, Timings and More

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited Yellow Line of Bengaluru's Namma Metro on August 10, announced BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Sunday. The event marks a major milestone for the city's expanding metro network.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Surya said, "Hon. PM Sri @narendramodi Ji's visit to Bengaluru on August 10 will be a landmark moment for Bengaluru South. He will not only inaugurate the long-awaited Yellow Line Metro operations but also lay the foundation stone for Namma Metro Phase 3, a project approved by the Union Cabinet in the first 100 days of PM Modi's third term."

Yellow Line Metro Project Meets August 15 Deadline

The RV Road-Bommasandra Yellow Line, stretching 19.15 km across 16 stations, has been constructed at a cost of ₹5,056.99 crore. The line connects key locations in southern Bengaluru, easing the commute for thousands of daily passengers.

According to Surya, the project met its timeline thanks to PM Modi's personal push to ensure the metro line was launched without further delays.

This new metro route is expected to significantly improve last-mile connectivity in the bustling tech and industrial corridor of Bengaluru.

Timings, Train Frequency, and Fares on Yellow Line

Operational Hours: 5 AM to 11 PM

Train Frequency: Every 25 minutes

Driverless Train Sets: Initially 3 sets in operation

Minimum Fare: ₹10

Maximum Fare: ₹90

According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the Yellow Line is expected to serve 25,000 daily riders initially, generating a revenue of ₹10-15 lakh per day.

Metro Phase 3 Foundation Stone to be Laid

During the visit, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for Namma Metro Phase 3, a major expansion that will add more corridors to Bengaluru's metro network. The phase received Union Cabinet approval recently and is part of the government's focus on infrastructure development in urban centres.

With the inauguration of the Yellow Line, Bengaluru's Namma Metro network takes a significant leap toward better connectivity and reduced traffic congestion. The launch ahead of the Independence Day deadline reflects the government's commitment to timely execution of urban infrastructure projects.
