Namma Metro Purple Line To Be Partially Disrupted On February 11; Check Timings
Maintenance work is scheduled to take place on the Namma Metro Purple line on February 11 (Sunday), leading to temporary disruptions in train services during the morning hours.
The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has provided details regarding this maintenance activity. "Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation will be conducting maintenance work on the Purple Line between Trinity and MG Road Metro Stations on Sunday. Commercial services between MG Road and Indiranagar Metro Stations on the Purple Line will be temporarily suspended from 7 am to 9 am (for a duration of two hours) to facilitate this maintenance," stated the announcement.

During this period, trains will operate only between MG Road and Challaghatta, as well as Indiranagar and Whitefield (Kadugodi) from 7 AM onwards. Normal metro train services will resume on the entire Purple Line between Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Challaghatta metro stations after 9 am, according to BMRCL.
Trains on the Green Line will continue to run as scheduled, starting at 7.00 am from their respective terminal stations. BMRCL advised metro passengers to take note of this adjustment and make necessary arrangements.
Progress Update on Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara Metro Work
The construction of Reach 6 line of our Metro Phase 2 project is advancing rapidly. This route spans a total length of 21.26 km, extending from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara, with 18 stations along the way. Over half of the route, approximately 13.76 km, consists of tunnels and a subway line from Dairy Circle to Nagawara, featuring 12 underground stations.
To address safety concerns at our metro stations, where incidents of passengers accessing the tracks have been reported, BMRCL is installing barricades on platforms with high traffic. This measure ensures that passengers can only access the train gates and not the tracks. Currently, barricades have been installed at Majestic (Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station), with plans for installation at other stations in the near future.
