Namma Metro Purple Line Services Suspended On April 5 For 2 Hours; Majestic to Mysore Road Stretch Affected

Namma Metro commuters will face a temporary disruption on the Bengaluru Metro Purple Line on April 5, 2026, as services are set to be suspended for two hours between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station-Majestic and Mysore Road Metro Station. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced the shutdown as part of scheduled maintenance work, impacting early morning travel on Sunday.

The disruption involves a temporary suspension of metro services on the Purple Line from 7:00 am to 9:00 am on April 5, specifically between Majestic (Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station) and Mysore Road Metro Station.

The move comes as BMRCL undertakes essential maintenance work between Vijayanagar and Attiguppe stations. While train services will remain halted on this affected stretch, operations across the rest of the Bengaluru Metro network will continue as usual, ensuring minimal inconvenience outside the corridor.

BMRCL clarified that the disruption is limited to the specified section, and services on other stretches of the Bengaluru Metro Purple Line, including Challaghatta to Mysuru Road and Majestic to Whitefield (Kadugodi), will run normally. Other lines such as Madavara to Silk Institute and R.V. Road to Bommasandra will also remain unaffected.

Metro services on the affected Majestic-Mysore Road stretch are expected to resume immediately after 9:00 am. Authorities have advised passengers using the Bengaluru Metro to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternate transport options during the maintenance window to avoid inconvenience.
