Namma Metro Purple Line Disruption: Trains Skip Whitefield Station Due to Technical Glitch

Commuters on the Namma metro Purple Line faced inconvenience on Thursday morning after a technical snag at Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station disrupted services.

According to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), trains have been temporarily suspended from operating to and from Whitefield station since 5:00 AM. As a result, Metro services on the Purple Line were being operated only between Hopefarm Channasandra and Challaghatta stations from 5 am today (Friday).

Normalcy returned Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Challaghatta Metro station only at 9.55 am, when train connectivity from the last station on the Purple Line was restored.

BMRCL officials had earlier stated that the issue is being addressed and services from Whitefield will resume once the technical problem is rectified.

The Green Line, which runs from Nagasandra to Silk Institute, remains fully operational.

The disruption has affected early morning commuters, especially IT employees and workers in the Whitefield tech corridor. Several passengers took to social media to express frustration over the lack of prior intimation and the inconvenience caused.

"We regret the inconvenience and are working to fix the issue at the earliest," a BMRCL spokesperson said.

Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and stay updated via official Metro channels.
