Namma Metro Purple Line Faces Disruption After Technical Snag, Normalcy Expected Soon
Commuters on the Namma Metro Purple Line encountered delays on Tuesday morning due to a technical snag. The issue, which arose between Baiyappanahalli and Garudacharpalya stations, resulted in trains running at slower speeds and disruptions to the regular schedule.
Taking to X (formely known as Twitter), the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has issued an update for all passengers regarding this issue. They said that the technical snag affecting the Namma Metro purple line has been rectified as of 9:20 am. Trains are now operating at their scheduled speeds.

While train services have returned to their usual pace, BMRCL expects that it may take some time for the system to fully normalise following the disruption. Passengers are advised to be mindful of potential minor delays as the schedule adjusts. BMRCL expressed their regret for any inconvenience caused by the technical snag and the subsequent delays.
Several netizens shared images of crowded platforms at Majestic, Swami Vivekananda Road, and Whitefield Metro stations, highlighting the rush of commuters awaiting trains.
The limited train services during the morning peak hour led to overcrowding at various metro stations. The Purple Line, in particular, experienced heavy crowds due to the reduced number of trains in operation.
The Purple Line stretches from Whitefield to Challaghatta, covering a distance of 43.49 km and serving 37 stations along the route.
