Namma Metro Incident: Commuters Fight In Crowded Train, Video Goes Viral

A shocking altercation broke out on a crowded Namma Metro train in Bengaluru during rush hour, leaving passengers stunned. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, involved two men engaging in a physical fight, exchanging blows and insults.

According to reports, the two passengers became embroiled in a heated dispute due to jostling and pushing in a packed compartment. The exact time and location of the incident remain unclear.

A video of the altercation shows the two men exchanging verbal abuse and fighting, while other passengers attempt to intervene and calm the situation. This appears to be the first recorded instance of such an incident on the Bengaluru metro, and its swift spread on social media has raised concerns about safety on public transportation.

The metro authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the specifics, including the train and time of occurrence. In response to this incident, they plan to increase security measures inside trains to prevent similar altercations from happening in the future.

More Coaches and Frequent Trains to Solve Overcrowding Issue In Namma Metro

Many Namma Metro passengers believe that the key to addressing the overcrowding issue lies in increasing the number of coaches and frequency.

In response to growing demands for service towards Bengaluru east, BMRCL had recently introduced loop trains from Majestic to ITPL and Garudacharpalya. As a result, 15 trains now originate from Majestic in the morning hours, compared to the previous nine. Of these, 10 trains travel up to ITPL, one to Baiyappanahalli, and then a subsequent train runs towards Whitefield at a 3.5-minute headway.

When asked about the loop train services, Maheshwar Rao, Managing Director of BMRCL, defended the initiative, emphasizing its ability to clear congestion at Majestic interchange station and meet passenger demands.
