Namma Metro Does It Again! Pink Line Metro Set To Join Kalena Agrahara To Nagavara, Details Here

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) achieved another milestone by successfully drilling all the sections designated for the upcoming Pink Line metro. The new project will connect Kalena Agrahara to Nagavara via MG Road and Tannery Road. Out of 24 tunneling assignments, this is the 21st tunnel project completed by Tunnel Boring Machine Tunga on the 21.26-km Pink Line Metro.

Making rapid progress for the ease of the commuters, the Bengaluru Pink Line metro project extends over 21.26 kilometers and includes a 13.76-kilometer underground section and a 7.5-kilometer elevated section. This track will cover 18 stations, 12 of which are underground.

According to the reports, the TBM Tunga bored 1,184.4 metres in 401 days.

The new route for the Pink Line metro will take commuters through places like Kalena Agrahara, Bannerghatta Road, and Nagawara.

"The TBM has tunneled its specified length and is currently engaged in core cutting, drilling holes, and other works. It will emerge out of the KG Halli shaft on Wednesday," said a Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) official.

The TBM Tunga and TBM Rudra are getting the job done for the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited. According to the reports, all civil and track laying works will be completed by the second half of next year, after which, initiating signalling and other critical system works will be forced.

The German-made machine drilled 1,260 meters between Venkatespura and Tannery Road in 2021 and finished its second assignment between Venaktespura and KG Halli by drilling through rocks and soil in 2022. After delivering many powerful performances, the TBM has now successfully drilled 718 meters between Lakkasandra and Langford in the third and final drive in only 100 days.
