Namma Bengaluru to get Namma Disneyland

Bengaluru, Sep 8: If everything goes well with the Bengaluru tourism department, then Bengalurians can experience Disneyland-like theme park in our own Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru Tourism infrastructure development department has given a proposal to construct a theme park similar to California Disneyland.

The proposed park will be build in the north of the city. It will be either in Devanahalli or along Bengaluru-Tumakuru road.

According to the calculations by the officials, the park will require 800-1,000 acres of land. The budget sumps upto Rs 100 crore.[No theme park in India now, Disney clarifies after Vizag report]

The tourism department is expecting to attract private investors to take up the project under public-private partnership. The department is putting hopes in the investors' meet at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) summit in Bengaluru. PATA is a medium through which the tourism department can find investors.

Bengaluru is housing three amusement parks already. Wonder La and Innovative Film City are located on Mysuru Road and Fun World is near Palace Grounds. Wonder La is about 81.5 acres in area.

The proposed theme park will be the biggest in the country.
