'Nagaraa' App To Make Bengaluru Auto Commute A Breeze With One OTP For Multiple Trips
On Karnataka Rajyotsava, November 1, the 'Nagaraa' metered autorickshaw mobile app officially launched the NAMMA Code, or Nagaraa Auto Multi Modal Access Code, allowing customers to use a single one-time password (OTP) or code for multiple trips.
This single code will remain active throughout the day for all journeys booked via the ride-hailing app, reported The Indian Express.

Previously, the app provided a separate code for each trip.
Supported by Agnibu Technologies and Brand Pride Mobility Pvt Ltd, the Nagaraa metered autorickshaw service enables drivers to locate customers both digitally and on-street, offering rides at government-approved fares.
Brand Pride Mobility's CEO, Niranjanardhya N, explained that customers no longer need to repeatedly enter pick-up details. "With the NAMMA Code, they can use the same code to hail a Nagaraa-metered autorickshaw for multiple destinations throughout the day. This feature helps drivers optimise their schedules by identifying customers more efficiently, reducing idle time and boosting daily rides," he noted.
How it works
Customers can generate the NAMMA Code by messaging 'Hi' to the Nagaraa auto's WhatsApp chatbot at 9620020042. They will receive a four-digit code valid until midnight that day. After sharing their pick-up location initially, they will be sent details of the driver and autorickshaw. The same code can then be used to request Nagaraa autorickshaws from different locations.
Integration with Bengaluru metro
Niranjanardhya N added that integration with the Bengaluru metro is also under consideration.
"We are currently in discussions with... the revenue departments of BMRCL (Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd). They have shown optimism about integrating our services and the NAMMA Code model into Namma Metro's chatbot feature. We still need further discussions with the managing director to finalise the decision. If successful, we'll sign an MoU soon," he stated.
The CEO of Brand Pride Mobility explained that with integration, metro passengers will be able to book a Nagaraa metered auto through the chatbot when purchasing metro tickets, using the same code for onward travel. Currently, Nagaraa has approximately 6,200 auto drivers on board and has completed 7,238 trips in Bengaluru.
The average journey length has been 4.61 km, with an average fare per trip of Rs 118.
