Police allege that he was kidnapped and murdered by a gang at Darshan's direction after sending offensive messages to actress Pavithra Gowda, rumoured to be Darshan's partner.

Reacting to the viral picture, Shiva Gowda, father of Renukaswamy, expressed his shock and demanded action against Darshan. "When Darshan asked for home-cooked food, it wasn't permitted. We have belief in the police and the justice system. I am utterly surprised how did this happen. This is shocking news for me. I request the government to investigate and take action," Gowda said.

He further added, "He (Darshan) has no guilt that he has made a mistake," demanding a CBI investigation into his son's murder case. The family's call for justice highlights their frustration with the current state of affairs.
