Metro trial run begins in South Bengaluru
Namma Metro's Green line will be open for trial runs from National College to Yelachenahalli stretch, a distance of 8 kilometers, over the next 2 months
After a 2 year waiting period BMRCL began metro trial run in southern division of the city. Bengaluru district-in-charge Minister K J George on Sunday flagged off the trial run between National College and Yelachenahalli stretch.
Namma Metro's Green line will be open for trial runs from National College to Yelachenahalli stretch, a distance of 8 kilometers, over the next 2 months following which trial run will be extended from Yelachenahalli to Sampige Road stretch. A green metro train was brought in from Peenya depot on Saturday for the trial run.

The wait isn't over
For the common man however, the wait isn't over. All trial and test runs are expected to conclude only after at least 4 months. BMRCL will be able to begin work on the 24-kilometre stretch between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli only after approval of Commission of Railway safety. If you were planning on hopping into the Green line of Namma Metro, it won't be possible before April 2017.
