Mangalore: Four of family die in suspected suicide pact  

, May 11: Four members of a jeweller's family allegedly committed

by consuming poison at a

room in the temple town of Kukke Subramanya in Dakshina Kannada District, police said on Sinday.

The bodies of the victims, including two children, hailing from Bangalore were found on the bed when the door of the room was forced open as the hotel staff grew suspicious after a foul smell emanated, police said.

The 45-year-old head of the family was in jewellery business, they said, adding the cause of the suicide was not known immediately.

According to police, the family had checked into the hotel four days ago giving a Bangalore home address.
