Man In Karnataka Murders Wife Over Dinner, Commits Gruesome Act

A man in Karnataka's Tumkur was arrested for murdering his wife as she did not serve him dinner, the police said on Thursday. The accused killed his wife, decapitated her, and skinned her body.

Chilling visuals from the man's house show the woman's body lying in a pool of blood. Her veins and intestines are visible as her skin was peeled off by her husband. Her severed head is seen next to her body.

According to the police, the incident took place on Monday night in Huliyurudurga town of Kunigal taluk. The accused, Shivarama, who works at a sawmill, had regular arguments with his wife Pushpalatha, 35. On Monday night, the couple got into an argument after Pushpalatha did not serve dinner to her husband. The fight then escalated as they quarrelled over Shivarama's employment.

Enraged, Shivarama stabbed Pushpalatha and then used a machete to cut her head, mutilating parts of her body. He continued to skin her body until Tuesday dawn and informed his landlord about his crime. The couple's eight-year-old son was asleep during the horrific act.

Ashok Venkat, Tumkur Superintendent of Police, said, "A 35-year-old female's body was found at the spot. Her husband was also at spot. During questioning, he confessed to the murder." "We have secured the accused. Shivaram and Pushpa were married for 10 years in an intercaste marriage. They had minor fights. Yesterday they had a fight over employment issues. He killed his wife and informed his employer. They immediately informed us. We have sent the body for post-mortem," the police official said.
