Man Hangs Self After Killing Two Children in Gonakanahalli, Wife in Custody

A shocking incident in Gonakanahalli village, Hoskote taluk, Bengaluru Rural district, has left the community in grief after a man, Shivu, and his two children were found dead at their home. Following the discovery, police have taken Shivu's wife, Manjula, into custody as part of an ongoing investigation.

The family had reportedly been struggling with marital issues and financial difficulties for some time. Shivu, who was mostly homebound after an accident a few years ago, reportedly had frequent doubts about his wife, according to NDTV.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

On the day of the incident, the couple allegedly consumed alcohol around 2 PM. Later, at approximately 4 PM, they strangled their 11-year-old daughter, Chandrakala, and subsequently their 7-year-old son, Uday Surya.

Following this, Manjula attempted to take her own life. Shivu, feeling unwell, asked her to fetch food from a nearby shop. Upon her return, she discovered that Shivu had hanged himself.

Neighbour Alert Leads to Police Intervention

Manjula then went to a neighbour's house to contact her father, as the phone at her home was locked. The neighbour immediately alerted the authorities after hearing her account.

Police say the couple had reportedly been planning this act for some time, believing that leaving their children behind would not be right. The investigation is ongoing as officials try to uncover the full circumstances behind this devastating family tragedy.
