Lok Sabha Poll Predictions: Guarantees Fail, Modi Factor Working In Karnataka? Check India Today Survey Report

Despite fulfilling five guarantees or poll promises, Congress is unlikely to win a big number of seats in Karnataka in the Lok Sabha 2024 polls as per an India Today survey report.

The Mood of the Nation survey has claimed that the NDA will win 24 seats out of 28 in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Whereas the INDIA bloc is predicted to bag just 4 seats.

Lok Sabha Poll Predictions

According to the MOTN poll, the BJP is predicted to bag a 53 per cent share of the vote, mirroring its performance in 2019. Similarly, the INDIA bloc, led by the Opposition, is forecasted to secure 42 per cent of the vote, aligning with its 2019 figures.

It has to be noted that the JDS is an ally of the BJP now and this seems to be helping both the parties.

The Congress has been banking on 5 guarantees (free bus travel for women, 200 units of free electricity, 10 kg of free foodgrains to the poor, Rs 2,000 for the woman head of the household and unemployment benefits of up to Rs 3,000). However, this is not giving the desired for the grand old party, the survey indicates. The survey also claims the Modi factor is working in Karnataka.

In the 2019 polls, the BJP came out with flying colours by winning 25 out of 28 seats. In addition to it, the saffron party-backed independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh had emerged victorious in Mandya constituency.

The February 2024 issue of The Nation's Mood is based on a survey conducted across all Lok Sabha seats, with a total of 35,801 participants. The survey took place from December 15, 2023, to January 28, 2024.

Similarly, The Times Now-Matrize opinion has predicted the BJP to win 21 seats. The survey findings say that the Congress will win 5 seats while the JDS will bag 2 seats.

As far as the vote share is concerned, the BJP is predicted to get 46.2 per cent votes while the Congress is likely to get 42.3 per cent votes. It is followed by the JDS (8.1 per cent). The others are expected to garner 3.1 per cent votes.
