Lok Sabha Elections Opinion Poll: Will Guarantees Help Cong Outperform BJP In Karnataka?

The five guarantees are unlikely to give a positive result for Siddaramaiah's Congress government in Karnataka as it is predicted to be outperformed by the BJP if the Lok Sabha polls are held today.

As per the Times Noew-ETG survey, the saffron party is predicted to bag 20-22 seats in Karnataka. Whereas the Congress, which registered a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls, is likely to win just 6-8 seats. The saffron party has allied with the JDS which is expected to give a blow to the Congress party.

However, the JDS is unlikely to win any seats.

In 2019, the BJP had bagged 25 seats with Sumalatha, independent MP from Mandya, backing the saffron party.

Despite the BJP losing a few seats, this is considered to be a good performance since it is out of power.

The survey has predicted that the BJP is expected to win 323 seats if the Lok Sabha polls are held today. Whereas the Opposition Block INDIA is predicted to bag 163 seats.

The survey claims that the BJP will come out with flying colours in North India while struggling to leave a strong impact in South India. The opinion poll predicts the saffron party could bag 3-5 seats in Telangana and 0-1 in Kerala while drawing a blank in Andhra and Tamil Nadu.
