Lok Sabha Elections: Here Are The Dates Of Voting In Karnataka

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday said that the elections for the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka will take place in the second and third phases of polling.

As per the EC, the voting will be held on two dates - April 26 and May 7, respectively. The results of these polls will be announced on June 4.

Here Are The Dates Of Karnataka Polling

14 seats in South Karnataka will vote in the second phase of the general elections and the other 14 seats will vote on May 7 in the third phase.

Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkuru, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamrajanagar, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru South, Chikkaballapura and Kolar will vote on April 26.

Chikkodi, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davangere and Shivamogga will vote in another phase.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured victory in 25 out of the 28 seats in Karnataka, with the Congress, Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS), and an Independent candidate each clinching one seat.

In 2014 polls, the BJP won 17 seats, while the Congress secured nine and the JDS two.

Interestingly, the JDS, which had an alliance with Congress in 2019, has joined hands with the BJP. As part of the agreement, the JDS will contest in three seats while the BJP will contest in 25 seats.
