Bengaluru, the bustling IT Hub experienced an unexpected and unsettling event on Saturday, October 28, when a leopard made a surprise appearance. The leopard was spotted near Singasandra sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents wary and forest officials on high alert. The leopard's presence was felt not only in Singasandra but also in other parts of the city, such as Brookefield, Kudlu Gate, near HSR Extension, and even near MS Dhoni International School.

Local authorities quickly mobilised their resources to locate and safely rescue the leopard to prevent any potential threat to residential areas. Vigilance was increased, and the Forest Department took active measures to ensure the safety of both residents and the wandering feline.

Leopard Spotted In Multiple Locations In Bengaluru: CCTV Captures Big Cat In Whitefield, Electronic City

As word of the leopard's presence spread, videos of encounters with the majestic but dangerous creature began to circulate on social media. One such video, captured by a CCTV camera, showed a terrified dog sprinting along a road in AECS Layout, closely followed by the surprise and unwelcome arrival of the leopard. In a dramatic turn of events, a group of other dogs bravely attempted to chase away the intruder. The leopard, seemingly unperturbed, changed course, moved to another road, and vanished from view, leaving onlookers and viewers in suspense.

This is not the first time leopards have been spotted in and around Bengaluru. In the past, these elusive big cats have been sighted in various parts of the city, including Electronic City, Bengaluru South, Kengeri, and Devanahalli. In fact, as recently as January of the same year, Bangalore University issued a circular cautioning its staff and students residing on campus to limit their nighttime activities due to a leopard sighting on the university grounds.

In a somber reminder of the ever-present proximity of wildlife to the city, in February of the same year, a leopard ventured into the outskirts of Bengaluru and killed a calf near an agricultural field in Dasanapura, off Tumakuru Road. Reports further indicate that a total of four leopards were spotted in and around the city in December 2022, highlighting the need for increased awareness and coexistence with the natural world in this vibrant urban landscape.
