Lalbagh Flower Show 2024 In Bengaluru Draws Over 5 Lakh Visitors, Collects 25.9 Crores In Entry Fees
The 2024 Lalbagh Flower Show, organized in celebration of the 75th Republic Day in Bengaluru's Lalbagh, garnered an extraordinary response with over five lakh visitors gathering to appreciate the floral extravaganza. The exhibition, launched by the Department of Horticulture on January 18 at Lalbagh, featured a vibrant floral display themed around the life and ideals of the 12th-century philosopher and social reformer Basavanna, concluding on January 28.

On the concluding day, a record-breaking number of more than 75,000 visitors paid an entry fee totaling Rs. 37.5 million, creating a lively atmosphere around the four entrances of Lalbagh. The rush was so intense that queues formed for entry tickets, resulting in overcrowding at Lalbagh Namma Metro stations and the South End metro station.
The Lalbagh Flower Show 2024, focused on the life, philosophy, and literary works of Basavanna, showcased breathtaking floral arrangements dedicated to prominent figures in the Veerashaiva tradition, such as Allama Prabhu, Akka Mahadevi, and others. These floral sculptures were skillfully crafted using roses and chrysanthemums. The experience of witnessing the flower sculptures in Lalbagh's Rose Garden and Sevantige area, adorned with roses and marigolds, captured the attention of visitors from various parts of the state and neighboring states.
On the final day of the Lalbagh flower show, adult entry fees were set at Rs. 100, while children below 12 years were charged Rs. 30. Parking areas reached full capacity, with vehicles charged Rs. 200 for four-wheelers and Rs. 100 for two-wheelers for a minimum of four hours. The Lalbagh Flower Show recorded a remarkable total footfall of 561,000 from January 18 to 28, collecting a total of Rs. 25.9 crore in entry fees, as reported by officials from the Horticulture Department.
