Kodagu: 15-Year-Old Girl Bludgeoned, Head Severed, Suspect Flees
In a horrifying incident, a 15-year-old was brutally murdered, and the perpetrator escaped with her severed head in Mutlu village, Somwarpet, Kodagu district, late Thursday night. The suspect, identified as Prakash (32), allegedly had his marriage proposal to the minor girl rejected by officials from the Women and Child Development department on May 9. Later, officials persuaded the girl's parents against marrying her off.
Despite this, the suspect forcibly entered the girl's house at night, abducted her, and took her to a location near the forest periphery, where he killed her and fled with her severed head. The police have initiated a search operation to apprehend the suspect.

Kodagu SP K Ramarajan revealed that the victim had just passed her SSLC exam on Thursday and was the only student at her school. The victim's mother sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital. The motive behind the murder will be determined after officials question the victim's mother, according to the SP.
