2009 result (seats): BJP 10, Congress 1

2009 party-wise vote-share:

Voters: 1.83 crore (18.3 million)

Polling booths: 21,424

First-time voters: 8 lakh (0.8 million)

Fact: The authorities will have a major challenge in dealing with Maoist activities while the Congress will have its task cut out to fight the Raman Singh and Narendra Modi affect here.
