KIA Terminal 2 To Commence International Operations On September 12

Kampegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru is all set to commence its international operations from Terminal 2 from Tuesday, September 12. Along with the international operations, domestic flight operations will also continue from terminal 2.

Earlier all the domestic and international flights used to operate from terminal 1 of the KIA. However, with the inauguration of the terminal 2, the international operations have been shifted from terminal 1 to terminal 2.

While Terminal 1 will continue with its domestic operations, Terminal 2 will continue running international operations along with domestic flights.

Airport authorities of KIA have decided to operate 29 airlines, including IndiGo and Air India that would operate to and from Terminal 2. As the domestic and international operations continue to work in both the terminals, Terminal 1 will be going through a renovation process to ensure it is in better conditions for future travel.

International flights which were earlier scheduled to and from Bengaluru from Terminal 1 will now resume its functions from Terminal 2. Jeddah, a Saudi Airlines flight will be the first international flight to depart from the newly constructed terminal of KIA on September 12 at 11.50am.

While the first flight to arrive at the Terminal 2 will be an Oman Air flight from Muscat at 14.05pm. However, the airport suggests the passengers to keep an eye for delay in flight timings due to the shift in terminal and weather conditions.

Airlines such as IndiGo (domestic flights only), Akasa Air, Alliance Air and SpiceJet will continue operating from Terminal 1, while the domestic services of AirAsia, Vistara, Air India and Star Air will still remain in Terminal 2.
