Karnataka: Young Man Attempts Suicide By Self-Immolation Following Online Game Losses

A young man from Bidar district, addicted to online games, attempted suicide due to overwhelming debt. Vijaykumar Jagannath Hole, 25, poured petrol on himself near Jyoti Tanda in Bhalki taluk and set himself on fire. His addiction led him to borrow over 12 lakh rupees, which he struggled to repay.

Vijaykumar, a B. Pharmacy graduate from Belur village in Hulsur taluk, had been engrossed in online gaming for several months. His family had already settled 10 lakh rupees of his debt. However, he borrowed an additional two lakh rupees and feared the consequences if his family discovered this new loan.
