Karnataka Weather Alert: Yellow Alert In Kodagu, Chikkamagalur; Bengaluru Likely To See Light Rains
Karnataka is likely going to witness heavy rainfall across various regions due to a trough formation in sea levels. A. Prasad, a scientist at IMD Bengaluru, highlighted the heightened impact of the cyclonic conditions and issued a high rainfall alert for coastal and southern areas.
According to reports, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur received 7 cm of rainfall today, and continued rain is expected to persist for three days, prompting an yellow alert for the next 24 hours. IMD classifies yellow alert as "heavy rainfall", which is anywhere between 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm.

Meanwhile, the northern regions of the state might experience light rainfall. A 38 percent rainfall deficit has been recorded from October to November. The coastal areas face a 14 percent deficit, while the northern hinterland records a 25 percent shortfall.
Mysuru and Bengaluru, however, have witnessed heavy rainfall this year. The weather agency has predicted cloudy weather in the Garden City for the next three days, with possible thunderstorms and gusty winds at night.
The onset of monsoon showers seems promising for those previously affected by a lack of rainfall. Farmers in major districts anticipate a boon for their autumn crops, known for requiring minimal labor and maintenance. This year's monsoon signals hope for these crops.
