Karnataka Weather Alert: Will The Bengaluru Rain Hold Out? What To Expect In Forecast

Bengaluru started Thursday with warm weather, registering a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. However, by late afternoon, the sky turned dark, and light to moderate rains followed.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city's maximum temperature is expected to reach 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may drop to 21 degrees Celsius. Isolated precipitation is expected in some areas of Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Weather Forecast: Mixed Signals on Rain

Vijay, from the popular blog 'Namma Karnataka Weather,' mentioned the possibility of isolated light rains in the city. "ECM is expecting widespread light rains this evening for Bengaluru. I am not so sure," he noted.

He also pointed out that the second and third weeks of June are usually quiet for Bengaluru and other South Interior Karnataka areas like Mysuru, Mandya, Tumkuru, and Ramanagara. However, he anticipates the monsoon to enter a vigorous phase post-June 20.

Karnataka Weather Forecast for Next 48 Hours

June 13: According to the IMD, scattered heavy rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Isolated heavy rain and thundershowers are expected over Uttara Kannada district. Additionally, isolated heavy rain and thundershowers with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely in Belagavi, Bagalkote, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru districts. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are forecasted for many places in the remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rains Likely in Coastal Karnataka:

June 14: The IMD predicts isolated heavy rain and thundershowers in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts. Light to moderate rain is likely at many places in the districts of South Interior Karnataka and at a few places in the districts of North Interior Karnataka.
