Karnataka Weather Alert: Will It Rain In Bengaluru Today? Check Weather Forecast For The Next 48 Hours
Bengaluru finally received some respite from the scorching heat, recording a temperature below 37°C for the first time in 15 days. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3°C yesterday, which is still 3.1°C above normal.
While Bengaluru seems to be getting some relief, rains are returning to Chikkamagaluru district after a gap of nearly two weeks. This is welcome news for the region, which has been experiencing dry weather conditions for some time now.

After nearly 12-13 days of dry weather, Chikkamagaluru city and its surrounding areas experienced a welcome change as rains made a comeback. This change in weather was a relief for the residents and farmers who were facing dry conditions. The rainfall is expected to help in easing the water scarcity in the region.
Bengaluru rains forecast:
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bengaluru has forecasted a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers on 7th May, with temperatures ranging from 24.0°C to 37.0°C.
Meanwhile, the forecast, valid until the morning of 9th May 2024, indicates a shift in weather patterns for the region.
According to IMD Bengaluru, the next 24 hours are expected to bring a generally cloudy sky. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms towards the evening and night in some areas. These conditions may be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 34°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to be around 22°C.
Looking ahead to the next 48 hours, similar weather patterns are expected to continue. A generally cloudy sky is forecasted, with the possibility of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms towards the evening and night in some areas. Like the previous day, these conditions may be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain stable at around 34°C and 22°C, respectively.
The forecasted weather conditions indicate a shift towards cooler and wetter weather for Bengaluru city and its neighborhoods. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the expected rain and thunderstorms.
Heat wave warning for several districts in Karnataka
The warning, valid for Day 1 (7th May 2024), indicates that heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail over Bidar, Kalaburgi, Yadgir, Raichur, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Koppal, Gadag, Vijayanagara, Ballari, Davangere, and Dharwad districts.
Residents in these districts are advised to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. Measures such as staying indoors during the hottest part of the day, staying hydrated, and wearing light clothing are recommended.
