Karnataka Weather Alert: Rainy Days Ahead For Bengaluru, Check Latest Forecast

Bengaluru is set to experience light rainfall in the coming days, as per the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This shift in weather is attributed to a well-marked low-pressure area forming over the southwest Bay of Bengal, near the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh coast.

The IMD's outlook for Thursday and Friday indicates light showers for the city, following the 3 mm of scattered rainfall recorded on Wednesday. Earlier this week, Bengaluru witnessed a cold spell with temperatures plummeting to a decade-low of 12.4°C. However, nighttime temperatures have now risen significantly.

On Wednesday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 19.4°C, surpassing the seasonal average by 3.1°C. This warming trend is expected to persist, with a forecasted low of 18.9°C for Friday.

The changing temperatures are linked to the evolving low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Extending up to 5.8 km above sea level, the system is anticipated to move northwest, approaching northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh in the coming days, bringing widespread rain to the region.

Karnataka, including Bengaluru, is likely to see moderate rainfall across its districts. Additionally, heavy fog could develop in inland areas, as noted in Thursday's forecast. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu is preparing for more intense rainfall as the weather system strengthens near its coastline.
