Karnataka Weather Alert: Bengaluru Hit By Hailstorms And Heavy Rains; Check Wet Week Forecast
It has been raining on and off in Bengaluru since last weekend, and the wet weather has no doubt put Bengalureans in a merry mood. Intense thunderstorms were reported north of Bengaluru and southwest near Kumbalagodu (Bengaluru Mysuru Expressway entrance), with showers over the central business district (CBD), east, and southern parts of the city on Wednesday. Hailstorms, accompanied by heavy rains and winds, are also lashing Nelamangala in the Bengaluru Rural district.
Despite the disruptions caused by waterlogged roads and traffic congestion, most people are happy about the rains.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru on Wednesday, indicating the possibility of heavy rainfall and strong winds.

The heavy rainfall led to waterlogging in several parts of the city and caused damage to trees, with branches strewn across the streets.
The weather forecast for Bengaluru predicts continued rainfall and cloudy skies for the next few days. On May 8, the city will experience temperatures between 21 and 35 degrees Celsius, with a partly cloudy sky and occasional rain or thundershowers. Similar conditions are expected on May 9, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 36 degrees Celsius. From May 10 to May 13, temperatures will range from 23 to 38 degrees Celsius, with cloudy skies and light rain expected.
Local forecasts suggest that Bengaluru will continue to experience rains and thunderstorms until the end of the week. While daytime temperatures will remain slightly above normal, the rains will bring some relief. Nighttime temperatures have even dipped below normal.
Heavy rains are also expected in other districts such as Mandya, Mysuru, and Kodagu. Hailstorms may occur in surrounding areas like Chamarajanagar and Ramnagar.
Due to these forecasts, an orange alert has been issued for the entire South Interior Karnataka region for today, advising people to be prepared for the wet weather. This will be followed by a yellow watch in the coming days, indicating that people should stay updated on the weather conditions.
