Karnataka Weather Alert: IMD Warns Of Temperature Drops In These Northern Karnataka Districts

The onset of January has ushered in cold weather across the state, marking a significant drop in temperatures and an increase in fog, particularly in interior districts during the morning hours. This change has notably disrupted the daily routines of the state's residents. The chill has led to a reluctance among people to leave their homes early in the day, opting instead to wait for the warmth of the sun to commence their daily activities.

The Meteorological Department has predicted a significant drop in temperatures across northern interior Karnataka, with the minimum temperature expected to fall below 10°C in the coming days.

The cold snap is most in several districts, where the minimum temperatures are expected to be 2 to 4 degrees Celsius lower than typical for this time of year. These areas include coastal Karnataka districts such as Uttara Kannada, and interior regions like North Interior Belgaum, Bidar, Vijayapura, Kalaburgi, Haveri, Raichur, and South Interior districts including Chikmagalur, Hassan, Mandya, Davangere, Chikkaballapur, Bangalore Rural, and Bangalore Urban.

Despite the severe cold, the state is forecasted to experience dry weather conditions today and on January 8, with fog expected in one or two places in the interior. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the cold weather will persist in most parts of the state for the day, contributing to the chill that has gripped the state's people.

This weather pattern has not only made it challenging for residents to carry out their daily activities but has also increased the amount of sunshine during the day, providing some respite from the cold. Nonetheless, the severe cold has significantly impacted the state's population, with many awaiting the sun's rays to bring warmth and comfort.
