Karnataka Weather Alert: IMD Forecasts Continued Rain in THESE Areas – Check Which Districts Will Be Affected
Karnataka Weather Alert: Bengaluru and several parts of Karnataka witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday evening, bringing relief from the heat while also causing disruptions. The downpour, which lasted until late at night, led to hailstorms in some areas and uprooted trees and electricity poles due to strong winds.
The first major rain of the year 2025 was welcomed by residents, but it also resulted in various accidents across Bengaluru. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted continued heavy rainfall across multiple districts in Karnataka for the next two days.

Weather Forecast for Karnataka
The IMD has predicted rain in over 20 districts of Karnataka today, including:
Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar, Vijayanagara, Tumakuru, Kodagu, Hassan, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Chikkaballapur, and Chamarajanagar.
For the next two days, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Kalaburagi, Haveri, Gadag, Bidar, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada are also expected to receive rainfall.
Temperature Trends
There will be no significant change in Karnataka's maximum temperature for the next three days, after which it is expected to rise gradually by 2-3°C. Similarly, no change is expected in the minimum temperature for the next five days.
In Bengaluru:
- HAL recorded a maximum of 32.7°C and a minimum of 20.5°C
- Bengaluru city recorded 33.2°C (max) and 22.9°C (min)
- KIAL (Kempegowda International Airport) recorded 33.7°C (max) and 21.6°C (min)
- GKVK recorded 33.8°C (max) and 21.4°C (min)
Bengaluru Weather On March 23: Light to Moderate Rain Expected in Parts of the City
The Bengaluru Regional Meteorological Center has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in some parts of Bengaluru city and Bengaluru rural areas today i.e on March 23.
As per the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), certain areas, including Dasarahalli, RR Nagar, and Mahadevapura zones, may experience drizzles. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is expected in the central part of Bengaluru East, most of Bommanahalli, and adjacent regions of Bengaluru South and RR Nagar zones.
Bengaluru Faces Waterlogging and Traffic Jams
The heavy rains on March 22 led to waterlogging on several roads in Bengaluru, causing severe traffic congestion, especially in densely populated areas. Even short bursts of rain often result in traffic bottlenecks across the city, adding to the woes of commuters.
Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious as the wet weather is expected to persist.
