Karnataka Weather Alert: IMD Forecasts 4 More Days of Chilly Weather in Bengaluru and Other Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said dry and chilly weather will continue across Karnataka for the next four days. Several districts, including Bengaluru, are experiencing cold mornings, dry air and fluctuating daytime temperatures, with no rainfall expected during this period.

According to the IMD, northern interior districts such as Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadgir, Koppal, Ballari, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri and Vijayanagar have been witnessing dry weather for the past few days, a trend likely to persist through the week. Similar conditions are forecast for southern interior regions, including Bengaluru Urban and Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Shivamogga, Kodagu, Chitradurga and Davangere.

Coastal Karnataka, covering Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts, is also expected to remain dry, with clear skies and low humidity prevailing.

In Bengaluru, foggy mornings and colder nights are being reported, with minimum temperatures dipping to around 15°C, while maximum temperatures are nearing 30°C. In Mysuru and Davangere, minimum temperatures have dropped to around 11°C, which is below normal for this time of year, with fog observed in some areas during early morning hours.

The IMD attributed the prevailing conditions to clear skies and cold northerly winds. Rainfall activity is expected to remain negligible across the state over the next four days, the department added.
