Cold weather, accompanied by fog, continues in several districts of Karnataka, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a rain alert for many areas starting today. A low-pressure system has developed over the Bay of Bengal, leading the IMD to predict rainfall in select parts of Karnataka. As a result, the intensity of cold weather is expected to decrease across the state, while dry conditions are likely to persist in many regions.

Heavy Rain Alert for Seven Karnataka Districts

The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the next few days in seven districts of Karnataka. Mysuru, Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Chamarajanagar, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi have been placed under a rain alert.

Meanwhile, cold winds and dry weather are expected to continue in several other districts, including Uttara Kannada, Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, and Vijayanagar.

Cold Weather Eases in North India

The weather department has reported that the intensity of cold weather is gradually reducing in North India. In rural areas, chilly conditions persist during the night and early morning, but afternoons are marked by intense sunlight, creating a sense of warmth.

Similar weather patterns have been observed in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. The IMD has issued an orange alert for fog in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, a change in weather conditions due to possible rainfall in the next 24 hours has been predicted.

Bengaluru Witnesses Warmer Conditions

In Bengaluru, cold weather has significantly reduced over the past couple of days, with warm conditions prevailing in the evenings. Morning fog has disappeared, and the sky appears clear. Based on the current situation, it is likely that the cold spell will come to an end soon.
