Minister Hebbalkar sustained injuries to her back and face, while MLC Hattiholi suffered minor head injuries. Both are currently receiving medical treatment.

The accident was confirmed by Mrunal Hebbalkar, the son of Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, who provided details of the incident. Thankfully, the injuries are not life-threatening, and both are expected to recover soon.

Mrinal Hebbalkar, along with her mother Laxmi, uncle Channaraj, the SUV driver, and their security official, were involved in an accident near Ambadgatti cross while traveling from Bengaluru to Belagavi after a Congress Legislature Party meeting on Monday evening. At around 5 am, as their vehicle neared the cross, the driver swerved to avoid hitting a stray dog.

In the process, another stray appeared, causing the vehicle to brush against a truck, skid off the road, and crash into a tree on the service road. The injured were promptly taken to Vijaya Ortho and Trauma Centre for treatment. Dr. Ravi Patil confirmed that Mrinal Hebbalkar suffered back injuries, and an MRI scan would be conducted to assess the damage.

Meanwhile, Channaraj underwent a CT scan for head injuries, which showed no significant concerns. Hebbalkar is expected to remain in the hospital for at least three days for treatment. Gurusiddha Swamiji of Karanjimath visited the hospital to inquire about her health, while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and State Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara contacted her family members. The Kittur police have registered a case related to the incident.
