Karnataka Dam Water Level Today: Major dams in Karnataka are nearing their maximum capacity as persistent heavy rainfall continues to elevate water levels across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted very heavy rainfall in various parts of Karnataka, particularly on Monday.
According to the IMD, isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over coastal Karnataka on July 8, 10, 11, and 12. Additionally, heavy rainfall is predicted for coastal Karnataka on July 9, north interior Karnataka on July 10, and south interior Karnataka on July 8 and 10.

Almatti Dam:
Location: Bagalkot District, Krishna River
Current Storage: 18349.501 M.Cft (Maximum Capacity)
Inflow: 60,603 Cusecs
Outflow: 430 Cusecs
Function: Primarily built for irrigation, the Almatti Dam also supports hydropower generation and flood control, contributing significantly to regional agriculture and water security.
Linganamakki Dam:
Location: Shimoga District, Sharavathi River
The Linganamakki Dam is a key hydroelectric power source and provides water supply to nearby communities. Its reservoir blends functionality with the region's natural beauty.
Tunga Anicut Dam:
Location: Tunga River, near Shimoga
Current Inflows/Outflows: 17,049 Cusecs
The Tunga Anicut Dam sees moderate rains over Koppa, Sringeri, and Tirthahalli taluks, resulting in moderate flooding of the Tunga River.
Krishna Raja Sagara Dam (KRS):
Location: Mandya District, Cauvery River
Current Storage: 23,046 M.Cft
Maximum Capacity: 49,452 M.Cft
Current Level: 100.3 Feet
Serving as a crucial lifeline for irrigation and drinking water, the KRS Dam continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water sustainability in the region.
Kabini Dam:
Current Storage: 17,709 M.Cft
Maximum Capacity: 19,516 M.Cft
Current Level: 62.12 Feet
The Kabini Dam also has substantial storage and continues to be a key water source for the region.
Hemavathy Dam:
Current Storage: 16,529 M.Cft
Maximum Capacity: 37,103 M.Cft
Current Level: 89.4 Feet
The Hemavathy Reservoir is currently less than half full, indicating a significant gap from its maximum level.
Harangi Dam:
Current Storage: 4,998 M.Cft
Current Level: 115.87 Feet
The Harangi Reservoir is slightly more than half full, indicating a substantial capacity for additional inflow.
