Karnataka Dam Water Level Today: Karnataka is witnessing a substantial rise in water levels across its 14 major reservoirs, essential for water supply, drinking water needs, and electricity production. As of July 9, these reservoirs are nearing their maximum capacity due to persistent heavy rainfall.
With consistent rains in Wayanad, Kerala, and the Cauvery basin in Karnataka, the dams continued to receive significant inflows on Sunday. The Kabini dam has reached its full capacity, and excess water continued to be released. A flood alert has been issued, and residents near the riverbanks have been advised to move to safer locations.

Almatti Dam:
Location: Bagalkot District, Krishna River
Current Storage: 18349.501 M.Cft (Maximum Capacity)

Function: Primarily built for irrigation, the Almatti Dam also supports hydropower generation and flood control, contributing significantly to regional agriculture and water security.
Narayanpura Dam:
Location: Yadgir District, Krishna River
Current Level: 489.65 Mt
Inflow: (+)10404.26 Cusecs
Outflow: 95.60 Cusecs
Basava Sagar Dam, formerly known as Narayanpura Dam, is constructed across the Krishna River in Yadgir District, Karnataka. The reservoir it creates, Basava Sagar, has a total storage capacity of 37.965 TMCFT (1.075 km³). The full reservoir level is 492.25 meters MSL, and the minimum drawdown level is 481.6 meters MSL.
Tunga Anicut Dam:
Location: Tunga River, near Shimoga
Reservoir Level: 1,607.59 ft
Reservoir Capacity: 33.07 TMC
Inflow Details: 16,142 Cusecs
Outflow Details: 211 Cusecs
The Tunga Anicut Dam sees moderate rains over Koppa, Sringeri, and Tirthahalli taluks, resulting in moderate flooding of the Tunga River.
Krishna Raja Sagara Dam (KRS):
Location: Mandya District, Cauvery River
Current Storage: 26,548 M.Cft
Maximum Capacity: 49,452 M.Cft
Current Level: 104.5 Feet
Inflow: 4,673 Cusecs
Outflow: 2,507 Cusecs
Serving as a crucial lifeline for irrigation and drinking water, the KRS Dam continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water sustainability in the region.
Kabini Dam:
Current Storage: 18,697 M.Cft
Maximum Capacity: 19,516 M.Cft
Current Level: 63.73 Feet
Inflow: 5,481 cusecs
Outflow: 5,000 Cusecs
The Kabini Dam also has substantial storage and continues to be a key water source for the region.
