Karnataka Dam Water Level Today: Karnataka's 14 major reservoirs are seeing a substantial increase in water levels, essential for water supply, drinking needs, and electricity generation. As of July 10, continuous heavy rainfall has brought the reservoirs close to their maximum capacity.

The Malenadu region has experienced significant rainfall, leading to a rise in the Kalinadi River's water level. Four dams, including Tattihalli, Supa, and Kadra, are nearly full, with water now being released from the Kadra reservoir.

Rain continues along the Karnataka coast, prompting an orange alert. Heavy rainfall is predicted for Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and the northern interior districts of Belagavi, Bidar, Gadag, Kalaburagi, and Yadgir, as well as the southern interior districts of Chikkamagaluru and Hassan.

Basava Sagar Dam, formerly known as Narayanpura Dam, is constructed across the Krishna River in Yadgir District, Karnataka. The reservoir it creates, Basava Sagar, has a total storage capacity of 37.965 TMCFT (1.075 km³), with a live storage of 30.5 TMCFT (0.85 km³). The full reservoir level is 492.25 meters MSL, and the minimum drawdown level is 481.6 meters MSL.

The Tunga Anicut Dam sees moderate rains over Koppa, Sringeri, and Tirthahalli taluks, resulting in moderate flooding of the Tunga River.

Krishna Raja Sagara Dam (KRS):
Location: Mandya District, Cauvery River

Maximum Capacity: 49,452 M.Cft
Current Level: 92.97 Feet
Inflow: 167 Cusecs
Outflow: 4,338 Cusecs
Serving as a crucial lifeline for irrigation and drinking water, the KRS Dam continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water sustainability in the region.

Current Level: 50.38 Feet

The Kabini and KRS dams in the Cauvery basin are experiencing significant inflows due to heavy rains in the catchment areas. The Kabini dam at Beechanahalli in HD Kote taluk of Mysuru district is just one foot away from reaching its maximum level. With continued rainfall in Wayanad district of Kerala and other catchment areas, the dam is expected to reach its full reservoir level by Wednesday. As of Tuesday, the water level stood at 2,282.45 feet, just shy of the 2,284 feet maximum.

The dam is receiving an inflow of 6,148 cusecs, while the outflow into the river is 2,000 cusecs.
