Karnataka Businessman Missing, His Damaged BMW Found Abandoned Near Bridge
A businessman in Karnataka has gone missing, and his damaged car was discovered near a bridge in Mangaluru, police reported on Sunday.
Mumthaz Ali, brother of Janata Dal (Secular) MLC BM Farooq and former Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava, disappeared early on Sunday morning, prompting a major search operation by the police.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said, "As per the preliminary investigation, around 3 am, he left his house in his car and drove around the city. At approximately 5 am, he stopped his car near the Kulur bridge in Mangaluru. The vehicle showed signs of an accident, after which his daughter alerted the local police."

The commissioner further suggested that Ali "might have jumped from the bridge," and both the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Coast Guard have been mobilised to search the river.
Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are ongoing.
