Taking cognizance of the matter and alerting the force, senior police officer Renuka Sukumar, said "In view of the protest called by a party, we have made elaborate arrangements in and around the place of protest. Around 13 cases pertaining to bootlegging, riots and other cases have been taken up. As of now, we have not received any letter (to protest)."

BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda termed the arresting as "politically motivated" and asked the need of this step ahead of Ram Mandir's consecration which might provoc people.

"Closing the cases, was it within the purview of legal boundaries? The appeasement politics of Siddaramaiah certainly will pay back to him within a very short period...Legal issues which need to be taken care of will be taken care of by the BJP legally. These are all political activities, 100% politically motivated...Now when we are going to inaugurate Ayodhya Ram Mandir at this juncture, why would they do all this? Why this provocation?," Gowda said.

ANother BJP leader CN Ashwath Narayan slammed Karnataka's siddaramaiah government for doing the "appeasement politics".

He said, "They (state government) cannot be discriminative, they cannot misuse the fund, they are answerable. This is what the people have been demanding. There should not be appeasement politics or misuse of the funds...Only vote bank politics is not appreciated by the people. They are trying to politicise the entire thing so that's the reason we are condemning the entire approach of the Congress government in Karnataka...Now they should realise be nationalist, respect all sections, being inclusive".
